ST PETERS, Sint Maarten — Sheikh Abdullah Faisal was today arrested by members of the Counter Terrorism and Organised Crime Branch on an extradition warrant in Kingston.
Abdullah Faisal is the same man who was deported from the United Kingdom, as an undesirable person, he used his pulpit to stir up hatred and sow unrest in British society according to authorities. He is a native Jamaican whose birth name is Trevor William Forrest.
His latest arrest in Jamaica is for: “using his public persona and his network to recruit and help the Islamic State terror group, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance and NYPD Commissioner James O’Neill said in a joint statement Friday”.
Faisal was earlier arrested in Kingston, Jamaica, on an extradition warrant by the Counter Terrorism and Organized British Crime Branch of the Jamaica Constabulary Force, the Jamaica Gleaner reported.
The following is quoted from the Jamaica Observer: “Acco0rding to a release from the Ministry of National Security, Faisal was taken to his home in St Catherine where a search warrant was executed.
He will be taken to court for a hearing at a later date.
The ministry said that further information will be made available as soon as additional details are available.
The controversial Muslim Cleric was deported to Jamaica in January 2010 from Kenya.
He denied a report in 2012 that he has been preaching hate against non-Muslims via the Internet”.
